Poseable Royal Faerie Art Doll 'Tansa'
Tansa is a unique, OOAK (one-of-a-kind) fantasy art doll sculpture. No molds have been taken or used. Her head, hands and feet are sculpted in professional polymer clay, hand painted with artist's acrylics and finished with a matte varnish. She is approx. 36cm tall with a wingspan of approx. 33cm, built over a strong wire armature with a soft body. Her head, arms and legs are gently poseable. Tansa has been made using hundreds of real bird feathers, fallen naturally and gradually collected by hand daily from the chickens kept in the artist's own garden. Her wings are made from Chamois polish hen feathers while the feathers on her hat and skirts are of a Creole frizzle polish rooster. She wears a cut and sewn ivory leather bodice paired with long bell sleeves and white and ivory skirts. The voile of her skirts and sleeves have been decorated with a dotted floral design. Feathers have then been individually woven and fixed into fabric atop her skirts at the rear to give a trailing plumage behind. She comes with a removable polymer clay sculpted bird hat, painted in acrylics and varnished along with the addition of a crest of feathers.
Combined with her wings and feathered skirt trail, she disguises herself as a bird within her surroundings. Other materials include glass eyes and styled Tibetan lambskin hair.
